Good news! MONEY AND HONEY is going to North America! With the recommendation of Busan AND, MONEY AND HONEY will participate in The Doc Shop, the film markets of Hot Docs Festival, the largest documentary film festival in North America. After the festival in Toronto, Canada (April 26~May 6, 2012), MONEY AND HONEY will be accessible online to all registered film buyers, distributers, sales agents, and festival programmers for an entire year on The Doc Shop platform. We are happy to take this opportunity to introduce MONEY AND HONEY to more audience in the world, sharing the lifelong struggles bewteen dreams and reality of five Filipino workers in Taiwan.

MONEY AND HONEY an Asian epic documentary on migrant workers spanning thirteen years. Director Jasmine Ching-hui LEE first came into contact with Filipino caretakers in the Taipei nursing home, where her grandparents were under care. Living away from their loved ones, both the Filipino caretakers and the elderly residents suffer from homesickness. Stories of joy and sorrow take place between them. The Filipino caretakers are humorous. They comfort themselves by singing a self-mocking song, ‛No money, no honey'. Being a wife, a mother and a migrant worker, these women are smart. They know how to survive. And yet, the road home seems to grow longer and longer. What price do they have to pay for love and livelihood? Can their dreams ever come true?

Thanks to World Documentary Exchange partnership between IDFA, HOT DOCS and Busan AND. MONEY AND HONEY is invited to take one of the slots with great honors. In addition to Hot Docs, MONEY AND HONEY has been selected by:

Money and Honey is selected in IDFA Docs for Sale.

It's the only one docunmentary from Taiwan.

This is the new arrival comment from Pat Ferns.

Pat launched the very first public pitching forum in Banff in 1985, a format he took to the USA and Europe, and which is now used around the world. Called in his native land, Canada "the father of independent  production", Pat was awarded The Order of Canada in 2005 for his services to the industry.

一早我從台北出發，搭上六點半南下的高鐵，前往高雄市社會局婦幼青少年館，這是麵包情人在台灣南部第一場放映會，我想，今天會遇到什麼觀眾，我們又會展開什麼心靈的交流分享呢?

映後座談的主持人是孔昭懿主任，因為照顧自己公公的經驗，讓她看完影片有許多心理的悸動；之後一個小時的時間，觀眾一一發言，特別的是有幾位也是擔任看護工作的朋友，分享影片的內容也是他們的心聲，只是平時他們都沒有機會表達。麵包情人的映演，真的應該讓更多的照顧者有機會看到，這對他們是情感的抒發安慰和尋找出口的可能。

另一方面，這個星期劉珊珊和菲律賓幫傭的事件在國內外沸沸揚揚上演，引發許多關注和討論，在情理法之間，我們怎麼看待這個事件呢?在麵包情人的映後座談中，有許多觀眾因為看了這部電影，而對外籍勞工有不同的感受。其中一位觀眾說:「開始思考原來以外勞也是一個人，一個人的家人、小孩、母親、女兒甚至老婆。」麵包情人讓觀眾看到這些菲媽是一個人，和我們一樣有家庭有夢想的人，菲媽不只是用完即可丟的工具而已。因此另一位觀眾說:「以後看到外籍看護工我會更喜歡他們，也會給他們一個微笑。」我真的很開心，麵包情人可以讓我們更加珍愛這些菲媽們!

❤發現外籍照顧者對於老人的關懷、照顧並不會少於他們的家人，原本是為了Money但最後他們也把老人當成Honeg，謝謝導演花這麼長的時間完成這部歡笑淚水交織的感人好。

 每年女性影展都會有幾部在性別影像上具有指標意義的作品，今年女性影展的代表性作品非《麵包情人》莫屬。有別於以往關注移工的影片，多聚焦描繪資本主義兼之全球化雙重剝削下移工的勞動處境，因地緣的限制而只能凸顯移工單面向窘迫的處境，幾乎都是被紀錄者（移工）在特定時空下的自我表述，無法觸及移工其他層次的生命經驗，被紀錄的人物（移工）顯得片段而單薄，影片伸張正義的運動價值高過其他。李靖惠導演這部長達十年的紀錄影像，可以說是這一類議題影片的轉進與再創發。

Each year, Women Make Waves Festival selects representative films concerning significant gender issues, and director Jasmine Ching-Hui LEE’s Money and Honey would be one of the exemplary works in 2011. Past documentaries regarding migrant workers primarily focus on capitalist exploitation in the context of globalization. Though these films serve as useful resources for activism, they often represent the self-narratives of their subjects in limited times and spaces due to geopolitical constraints, accordingly rendering their life experiences fragmented and reduced. In contrast, Lee’s ten years of unremitting filming process across different countries enriches and renovates this genre.

 由大葉大學視覺傳達設計學系李靖惠助理教授執導的紀錄片《麵包情人》（Money and Honey），繼入圍第十六屆南韓釜山國際影展「超廣角」（Wide-Angle）單元競賽片，榮獲釜山影展「AND發行獎」後，並是本屆「台灣國際女性影展」的開幕影片，同時獲得女性影展「觀眾票選獎」的肯定。

來囉！來囉！《麵包情人》在10/23（日）於女性影展的第二場放映依舊好評滿載！

當場回收數十張「♥♥Honey愛心回函卡♥♥」，可讓小編我整理了好些時間（揮汗）！

今年女性影展看的前三部片恰好都是國內出品的紀錄片，趕了頭香看開幕片《麵包情人》。這部為這次影展博得滿堂彩的電影，本身還在釜山影展參展，導演李靖惠抽空回來參加開幕式，結果從韓國傳回本片得到「AND發行獎」的消息。從新聞得知此殊榮獎金甚少，但作為第一個拿到此獎項的國片已屬不易，更難得的是，根據導演本人的說法，得到這個獎的電影，可以得到補助、在韓國國內做公開的商業放映。真個是雙喜臨門。

Busan International Film Festival super wide-angle category finalist and Women Make Waves Film Festival opening film Money and Honey defeated strong contenders from other countries and won the AND Distribution Support Fund. Teeming with tremendous praises and immense popularity, there is another good news for the Taiwanese documentary.

入選韓國釜山影展「超廣角」競賽片、並打敗各國強片獲得「AND發行獎」的女性影展開幕片《麵包情人》，挾著爆棚好評與旺盛人氣，再傳獲獎喜訊！女性影展昨（10/23）晚揭曉本屆的「觀眾票選獎」，在近八十部長、短片激烈競爭之下，由《麵包情人》脫穎而出、贏得殊榮！不僅讓導演李靖惠又驚又喜，更在發表得獎感言時笑得合不攏嘴，頻頻感激影迷熱情支持！《麵包情人》在女影的二度放映人氣照樣強強滾，現場並吸引許多家庭扶老攜幼進場，一睹這群「菲媽」為幫家人一圓人生美夢，離開丈夫兒女、帶著思鄉心情，隻身來台打工賺錢的感人故事。許多觀眾看到片尾時都潸然落淚，甚至還有男性觀眾難逃《麵包情人》的催淚功力，默默流下一行清淚。

「女性影展」開幕片《麵包情人》，導演李靖惠於10月14日出席女性影展開幕記者會，馬上成為眾人注目焦點。導演在現場不僅分享創作經歷，《賽德克．巴萊》女星羅美玲更特­別蒞臨現場，將象徵「金錢」的麵包送給導演李靖惠，並獻上祝福，希望她日後拍戲籌資順利，不要像魏德聖一樣，找錢找得這麼困難！李靖惠接受羅美玲這超實際的祝福笑得很開心­，希望經由羅美玲的祝福，讓她分享到《賽德克‧巴萊》強強滾票房的好運。

An intensely human documentary film that follows the lives of foreign women over 10 years. Foreign women workers in a Taiwan hospice for the elderly are there to provide for their families. They comfort themselves by singing a self-mocking song said ‛No money, no honey’. Their greatest source of sadness is being foreign to their families in their own countries. Foreign women workers work for 3 years, the duration of a contract. During the 3 years they work with almost no days off. And what awaits these women is an awkward family reunion. After using all the money they’ve earned, these women head for foreign lands again by spending a fortune. They work for the family’s future but can’t see that future themselves, and can’t share familial love with them. Money and Honey chronicles the women’s hard work and family affairs, which are much harder than the work; their strength and unwillingness to giving up hope are affecting. (CHO Young-jung)
